Chapter Eighteen
Andiâs kisses were like nectar, her touch like a satin sheet slipping from Renâs skin in the heat of the moment. It had been a while since Ren had laid out on a couch with a woman and just kissed like this, in the real world anyway, with no rush and no hesitation by either of them. She felt a wave of relief wash over her as she came to the conclusion that she was wrong about the way Andi had made her feel in her dream; in this world it was so much better.
There were fingers drifting confidently under her shirt. They touched her skin and she felt herself melt into them, felt her flesh shiver and her spine tingle with anticipation as the politician began an exploration that Ren was content to let her enjoy.
âI am 46 years old and behaving like a horny teenager,â Andi husked against the closest ear to her lips.
âI am pretty sure itâs a mutual feeling,â Ren gasped as she felt warm lips suck gently on her neck. âJesus, when did I tell you about that?â
âYou didnât, I found it all by myself.â Andi smiled smugly against her throat and continued to kiss, lick, and suck the sensitive area, pleased with herself for having Agent Ren Dyer at her mercy. Without warning, she suddenly stopped and sat up. âDo you want to go to bed, Agent?â
In seconds, Ren wriggled and moved herself from beneath the politician, hovering over her for just a second before she was up on her feet, scooping a squealing Andrea Fielding into the air and over her shoulder.

In the growing dusk, the bedroom looked different. The curtains hadnât been pulled shut, and the night lamp that sat to one side of the bed illuminated the room with a gentle glow. It reminded Ren of the room they had shared in Yorkshire.
Standing in the centre of the room, she reached forward and slid her hand around Andiâs neck, her thumb rubbing gently back and forth against her cheek.
âThis isâ¦â
A lump rose in her throat as she realised that she was about to make love to Andi for the first time. Her mind had been playing tricks all this time. Every image she had of this woman was systematically being erased and replaced. She had been so sure when she woke that her feelings and memories were real, and yet she would never have believed her imagination could be soâ¦lacking.
ââ¦before it was all soâ¦so real, but thisâ¦â
âI can assure you that I am very, very real, Ren. But if this is all too soon, thenâ¦â
Ren placed a fingertip to Andiâs lips. âItâs not thatâ¦Iâve been doing this for months.â She grinned at the memory of her dreamworld. âI justâ¦youâre so beautiful,â she whispered as cobalt eyes searched her green ones.
A light blush covered Andiâs skin. âIâm glad that you think so.â
âHow could I not?â Renâs eyes continued to scour every inch of Andiâs face.
âDonât make me wait, Ren,â Andi whispered
